The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, announced that the current Government has fulfilled its commitment to restore freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive rule of two leaders. During the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Professor Prasad emphasized the Government’s efforts to establish a democratic and accountable administration in Fiji.
He remarked that the National Federation Party has upheld its promise to eliminate fear and intimidation while also prioritizing listening and consultation with the public. Professor Prasad encouraged party members to support this ongoing endeavor and to back the Government in its mission to improve Fiji.
As Fiji’s oldest political party, he noted that they have endured through challenging times, unlike other parties that have faded away. The survival of their party, he stated, is rooted in a shared belief in a collective vision for a better Fiji, characterized by unity, peace, and support for the less fortunate.
Professor Prasad expressed a commitment to leadership that is both honest and compassionate, aimed at strengthening Fiji and increasing its resilience. He concluded by affirming their goal of creating a more equitable and just society for all Fijians.
