Their discussions centered on critical government priorities outlined in the National Development Plan, which include enhancing health service delivery, promoting quality education, constructing climate-resilient infrastructure, and elevating the overall standard of living for citizens.

VP Ferro conveyed the World Bank’s commitment to collaborating with the Government of Australia and the Asian Development Bank to advance the redevelopment of the CWM Hospital.

Additionally, there will be an emphasis on tackling the existing public health emergency through increased investments in primary health care facilities nationwide and enhancing public awareness and response initiatives.

Ferro praised Fiji for its proactive strategy and confirmed the World Bank’s ongoing support via technical assistance, financing, and capacity-building initiatives to fulfill these objectives. She reassured Professor Prasad of the Bank’s backing of the National Development Plan and its sustained partnership in Fiji’s development efforts.
