Susana Tuisese, the vice-president of Conservation International for the Pacific Region, stated that the National Development Plan (NDP) for 2025–2029 calls upon all communities to play a role in its implementation. During a panel discussion at the University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Campus, she emphasized that good governance is essential for the NDP’s success.

Tuisese noted that the plan highlights the importance of establishing clear monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure accountability. She asserted that Fiji’s NDP is more than just a framework; it serves as a rallying point for collective action and collaboration among citizens and the government to tackle pressing issues.

Additionally, Tuisese pointed out that enhancing the tourism sector hinges on major investments that focus on improving services related to international flights. She mentioned that there are various airports and islands in Fiji that could offer new opportunities for tourism, leading to socio-economic benefits that connect global communities to these developments.
