Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator of Nadi Town Council, confirmed that final preparations are being made at the venue.

Raiwalui expressed that this concert will establish a new standard for events in Nadi, stating, “This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji.” He noted that while the organizers will cover all costs associated with Prince Charles Park, the council will manage the parking arrangements, with additional space planned at Koroivolu Park.

He emphasized the council’s commitment to collaborate with musicians for future events, indicating their readiness to support the idea of making this concert an annual occurrence.

The concert marks George Veikoso’s return after 40 years of sharing Pacific music globally. He highlighted that this homecoming goes beyond just a concert, stating, “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all.” Veikoso expressed his honor in returning home to present music that has defined his career, alongside notable artists such as J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi.

He noted that the event would celebrate not only his return but also the ability of music to unite and inspire communities, stating, “This event is a tribute to our shared heritage, and I can’t wait to experience this unforgettable night with all of you.”

A representative from Tourism Fiji shared enthusiasm for the concert, calling it a celebration of Veikoso’s talent while also promoting Fiji’s vibrant music scene. They emphasized that such events could enhance the local economy, foster community spirit, and showcase Fiji’s unique cultural offerings to international guests.

Ticket prices range from $79 to $999 for VIP access. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz expressed his willingness to pay for the event, showing gratitude for the artists performing and encouraging support for Veikoso as a representative of Fijian music on the world stage.

The concert is scheduled for September 14-15.
