The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has unveiled a new suite of thirteen websites, including a main site for the Ministry and twelve for its Missions, designed to be user-friendly and highly informative.

At the launch event, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance service delivery and establish real-time connections between Fiji’s Missions overseas and their clients.

The updated websites reflect the Ministry’s dedication to leveraging digital tools to enhance Fiji’s diplomatic outreach by providing timely updates on its bilateral and multilateral engagements, fostering economic development for the nation.

A key feature of the newly designed website is the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” allowing Fijians living abroad to register with the Ministry. This portal will help the Ministry gather vital data to inform policy decisions, especially in ensuring outreach to the Fijian diaspora during crises.

Qereqeretabua noted that the revamped website serves as a comprehensive resource for sharing information about significant initiatives undertaken by the Ministry, such as Fiji’s first Foreign Policy White Paper, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s vision of the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace,” and the Fiji Institute of Diplomacy.

Fijians worldwide can now access ‘Citizens Connect and Consular Services’ through the site, facilitating passport renewal applications and bookings.

The improved website features will allow Fijians globally to contact their nearest Mission and schedule appointments for assistance or consultations. Members of the diaspora can also keep updated on advisories from Fiji Missions through the revamped site.

Additionally, the new websites encourage feedback from service users, enabling the Ministry to gather insights on how to further improve its offerings.

The launch of the websites covers Fiji’s two Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, five High Commissions in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, India, and Papua New Guinea, as well as five Embassies in Indonesia, Japan, the United States, China, and the United Arab Emirates.

With easy access at the click of a button, Fijians can now better understand and appreciate the efforts of their Ministry and Missions abroad.

The new websites are available at www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
