The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) remains a significant institution in Fiji and has much to contribute to the nation. Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai emphasized that the military’s role extends beyond “uniforms and guns.” In an interview on The Lens@177, he highlighted the ongoing discussions surrounding the RFMF’s productivity.
Kalouniwai pointed out that the military is essential in areas such as peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. He noted, “Productivity is something people look at in terms of dollar value. The RFMF has a different way of doing things.” Furthermore, he expressed a desire to recruit more officers if the opportunity arises.
