The Methodist Church of Fiji is commemorating its 60th anniversary of independence from Australia. The annual conference, known as the ‘Bose ko Viti,’ is taking place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

In a briefing with the media, MCF General Secretary Reverend Dr. Jolame Lawasa shared that several important appointments were made yesterday. Delegates have reappointed Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou as President for another year, along with the reappointment of Reverend Dr. Anil Reuben as General Secretary and Reverend Lawasa himself as Deputy General Secretary.

Reverend Lawasa noted that Vice President Joji Qaranivalu will conclude his three-year term this year, with Jone Vuto elected to step in as the new Vice-President starting in 2025.

He emphasized that this year, the Methodist Church plans to enhance its mission in Fiji, with one of its goals being the establishment of a television and radio station. The week-long conference is ongoing.
