The Methodist Church of Fiji is commemorating its 60th anniversary of independence from Australia. The annual conference, known as ‘Bose ko Viti,’ is currently being held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

In a media briefing, MCF General Secretary Reverend Dr. Jolame Lawasa announced several significant appointments made during the conference. Delegates have reappointed Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou as President for another year, while Reverend Dr. Lawasa and Reverend Dr. Anil Reuben have been reappointed as General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary, respectively.

Reverend Lawasa noted that Vice President Joji Qaranivalu will complete his three-year term this year and that Jone Vuto has been elected to take over as Incoming Vice-President starting in 2025. Additionally, he mentioned that this year, the Methodist Church plans to enhance its mission in Fiji, with one of the goals being the establishment of a TV and radio station.

The week-long meetings are ongoing.
