Fiji’s outgoing President and Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, has urged the government to prioritize the well-being and safety of all Fijians, as well as visitors to the nation. During a traditional farewell ceremony held at the State House, Ratu Wiliame expressed his desire for unity, encouraging all citizens to support Prime Minister and his administration.
As he transitions back to his traditional roles and home, he reassured the public that his residence remains open to everyone. In his remarks, Ratu Wiliame emphasized the importance of directing the same support towards his successor, the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. Ratu Naiqama is set to be officially sworn in as Fiji’s seventh Head of State on Monday.
