The Public Service Commission, with the Prime Minister’s consent, has announced the reappointment of six Permanent Secretaries to guide their respective ministries through the next phase of growth and development.
PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada emphasized that the decision to reappoint these officials followed a thorough and rigorous recruitment process. The Commission determined that the six individuals are ideally suited to continue their leadership roles due to their deep understanding of their ministries, proven success records, and strong visions for the future.
Mr. Pita Tagicakirewa has been reappointed as Permanent Secretary for I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts until November 2025.
Ms. Seema Sharma will continue her role as Permanent Secretary for Local Government until December 2025.
Mr. Yogesh Karan has been reappointed to the position of Permanent Secretary for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and the Sugar Industry until December 2025.
Mr. Shaheen Ali will serve as Permanent Secretary for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications until December 2025.
Ms. Susan Kiran has been reappointed as Secretary to the Cabinet until June 2026 and will also take on the role of Permanent Secretary for Information starting September 2, 2024.
Dr. Raijeli Taga will serve as Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources until she is transferred to a new ministry in October 2024.
Chairman Luke Rokovada further noted that all Permanent Secretaries are Fijian nationals, highlighting Fiji’s growing talent pool and the Civil Service’s success in attracting and retaining high-quality professionals.
