Fiji’s Kings Road Set for Temporary Closure: What You Need to Know

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary road closure for Kings Road, specifically on the Suva-bound lanes, between the Nakasi Road junction and the Adi Lady Davila Road junction.

This closure is scheduled for Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2 PM to 10 PM.

The purpose of this closure is to trim three large trees that have branches extending onto the pedestrian footpath, cycle lane, bus shelter, and part of the road. These essential works are part of the FRA’s commitment to ensuring safe access for both pedestrians and motorists.

During the closure, all traffic heading towards Suva will be redirected via Nakasi Road, Vavalagi Road, and Vishnu Deo Road, before rejoining Kings Road as indicated in the accompanying diagram.

The FRA expects that the work will be completed within the specified time frame. They apologize for any noise disturbances and thank residents near the construction site for their understanding.

For further inquiries or additional information, individuals can contact the FRA at the toll-free number 5720 during weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM or via email at info@fijiroads.org.
