Fiji’s Government Bets Big on Wellness Tourism with Spartan 2024 Event

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka has reaffirmed the Coalition Government’s commitment to leveraging high-impact events to stimulate the economy and support Fiji’s tourism development objectives.

During the Spartan 2024 Business Launch in Sabeto, Gavoka emphasized the Spartan event as not only a sporting challenge but also a key element in the government’s strategy to enhance Fiji’s reputation in Wellness Tourism.

He reflected on the success of last year’s Spartan event, which brought in a remarkable FJ$6 million, benefiting local businesses through the involvement of over 30 suppliers that provided vital services like transportation, accommodation, and catering.

Gavoka noted that this economic boost aligns seamlessly with the Coalition Government’s pledge to promote local economic engagement while enhancing Fiji’s attractiveness on the global stage.

The event also delivered significant advantages to Land Owning Units and local communities, illustrating the inclusive approach to Fiji’s economic development under the Coalition Government.
