Fiji’s Golf Tournament Breaks Records: Who Took Home the Medals?

The Fiji Golf Club hosted its popular monthly medal tournament yesterday at the picturesque Vatuwaqa course, attracting a substantial participation of 105 players. Frank Chan, a committed member since 2010, was among those competing, representing some of the club’s finest golfers.

“This tournament brings together the best players in the club,” Chan remarked. He noted that all participants played from the black tees, which are typically designated for professionals.

Despite challenging weather conditions, Chan expressed optimism, observing that players were performing admirably. “It’s a large field today, and despite the weather, we’re doing well. This monthly medal focuses on challenging ourselves to play to our handicap or better.”

Chan also emphasized the dual benefits of golf, highlighting its social and physical dimensions. “Beyond the competition, it serves as a means of relaxation and a way to enjoy some exercise,” he stated. He encouraged individuals from all backgrounds to take up the sport, asserting that golf has something to offer everyone.
