Fiji’s Game-Changing National Development Plan Set for Launch!

The National Development Plan is set to be unveiled next week, on Tuesday, September 17. This announcement comes from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof Biman Prasad, who emphasized that the launch will mark a significant moment for both the government and the citizens.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to lead the launch of the National Development Plan. Prof Prasad noted that the plan has been developed through extensive consultations with both private and public sectors.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the National Development Plan, stating that it will address and prioritize key areas. During public consultations, Fijians raised critical issues, including access to water, rural electrification, improved network connectivity, better road infrastructure, and enhanced health services.

The new National Development Plan will encompass three-year, five-year, and twenty-year plans for Fiji and is expected to serve as a guiding document for the country’s future.
