The National Development Plan is set to be launched next week on Tuesday, September 17th. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof. Biman Prasad, who emphasized that the launch will mark a significant occasion for both the government and the citizens.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will preside over the launch of the National Development Plan. According to Prof. Prasad, the initiative has been developed following extensive consultations with both private and public sectors.
Prof. Prasad highlighted the importance of the National Development Plan, stating that it will address and prioritize key areas of concern. During consultations, Fijians identified critical issues such as access to water, rural electrification, enhanced network connectivity, the need for better roads, and the expansion of healthcare services.
The National Development Plan will span a three-year, five-year, and a 20-year framework for Fiji, and it is anticipated to serve as a comprehensive blueprint for the country’s future.
