South Sea Towage Limited has welcomed three graduates from Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are the first participants in this initiative organized by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD), which operates under the Ministry of I-taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this event and the center’s role in creating meaningful employment opportunities not just for the three interns, but for young people across Fiji. He stated, “The center aims to provide a platform of meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are very happy to have been able to sign three of our interns today. They are the first of many.”

Saimoni Raikuna, 21, who graduated a year ago, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with South Seas Towage Limited. He shared, “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career.” Raikuna also urged other young people in Fiji to leverage their skills and talents to support themselves. He encouraged them, saying, “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams.”

The Nadave Technical School aims to be part of the Ministry of I-taukei Affairs’ efforts to provide job opportunities for the youth of Fiji and address the rising unemployment rates.
