The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) marked a significant occasion with the graduation of the 1/23 Officer Cadet Course and the 1/24 Territorial Officers Bridging Course at the Force Training Group Drill Square in Nasinu on November 19, 2024.
The ceremony was led by the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua, who congratulated the graduates on achieving a vital milestone in their military careers. In his speech, Tikoduadua highlighted the importance of this turning point, referring to it as the start of a transformative journey. He noted, “You stand on the threshold of a path that few have the honor to tread—a path defined by responsibility and purpose.” The Minister urged the new officers to embrace their roles as both commanders and leaders, tasked with inspiring others through bravery and conviction.
Tikoduadua underscored the significant responsibility the graduates hold in influencing the future of the RFMF and serving the nation. He stated, “You will uphold the traditions of the RFMF while guiding its evolution to reflect the values of our nation. Your development as an officer is now your responsibility.”
Closing his remarks, he called upon the graduates to lead with integrity, honor, and dedication to Fiji’s democratic ideals. He emphasized the importance of serving their soldiers and the nation with distinction, encouraging them to reflect their pride and commitment in everything they do.
