Fiji’s Future: A Blueprint for Resilience and Growth

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that the National Development Plan (NDP) will guide Fiji’s development over the next five years and lay the groundwork for the next 25 years.

Kamikamica emphasized that the NDP 2025-2029 is a crucial document that reflects the Government’s commitment to resilience, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth. He described this initiative as a significant advancement in shaping the future of Fiji.

“Our Plan showcases our commitment to tackling existing challenges and ensuring that all Fijians benefit from development. It serves as a blueprint for economic resilience, empowering people, and upholding good governance,” he stated.

The NDP 2025-2029 is built upon three fundamental pillars:

1. Economic Resilience: Focused on diversifying Fiji’s economy through innovation and technology.
2. People Empowerment: Aiming to guarantee equitable access to essential services while promoting civic participation.
3. Good Governance: Advocating for transparency, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law.

The Plan is in line with international and regional commitments, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent. It positions Fiji as a strategic regional hub for commerce and trade, capitalizing on its geographic advantages and digital infrastructure.

Kamikamica remarked, “Our progress relies on the contributions of every Fijian. Together, we can spearhead sustainable development and work toward Vision 2050.”
