The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has unveiled thirteen newly rebranded websites, including a central site for the Ministry and twelve dedicated to its missions. These websites are designed to be interactive and user-friendly.
At the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua stated that this initiative aims to improve service delivery and foster real-time connections between Fiji’s missions abroad and their stakeholders. The revamped websites reflect the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging digital tools to enhance Fiji’s diplomatic presence, providing timely updates about its bilateral and multilateral engagements, ultimately aimed at supporting economic development.
Among the new features is the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” which allows Fijians living overseas to register with the Ministry. This portal is expected to help consolidate crucial data that can guide policymaking, especially during crises.
Qereqeretabua emphasized that the new website will serve as a comprehensive resource for sharing information about the Ministry’s initiatives, including the groundbreaking Foreign Policy White Paper and concepts like the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace.”
Fijians globally will now have access to ‘Citizens Connect and Consular Services,’ facilitating passport renewals and consultations with mission staff. The revamped site will also enable members of the diaspora to keep up with updates and advisories from Fiji’s missions.
An important aspect of the new websites is the feedback mechanism, which encourages service recipients to share their opinions, helping the Ministry enhance its offerings.
The websites for Fiji’s Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, along with five High Commissions and five Embassies across several countries, are now active. With a simple click, Fijians can access information about the Ministry and its work abroad.
These updates can be explored further at the Ministry’s official website.
