Fiji’s halfback Frank Lomani acknowledges the challenge posed by Ireland, despite their recent struggles during the Autumn Tests. After suffering a 23-13 defeat to the All Blacks and narrowly securing a 23-19 victory over Argentina, Lomani emphasized that the team is aware of Ireland’s past performance as the top-ranked team and their current vulnerabilities.
“The last few days, we’ve discussed that Ireland was the number one team months ago, and though they may seem vulnerable now, we can capitalize on that,” Lomani stated. He reminded everyone that, despite the team’s recent form, Ireland remains a formidable opponent, currently positioned among the world’s top three teams.
Lomani stressed the importance of teamwork, calling on his fellow teammates and coaches to build on their recent performances. “If we continue to work together, as we’ve done in our last two matches, we’ll put ourselves in a good position,” he remarked.
The Flying Fijians are set to face Ireland at the Aviva Stadium this Sunday at 3:10 AM, and Lomani is optimistic about the team’s ability to deliver a strong performance.
This upcoming match could be a pivotal moment for the Flying Fijians, providing an opportunity to reclaim their form and test their mettle against a resilient opponent. With consistent teamwork and effort, they could turn the odds in their favor. It’s a chance for them to not only compete but also to showcase the strength of Fijian rugby on an international stage.
