Fiji’s only locally owned private hospital, Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH), is prepared to conduct its first open-heart surgery, according to Parvish Kumar, the hospital’s Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Kumar has extended an offer for assistance to individuals who are underprivileged and unable to afford this crucial surgery, encouraging them to reach out via email at p.kumar@psh.com.fj.
To qualify for either a fully free procedure or a highly subsidized rate, patients must meet specific criteria, including certain cardiac requirements. Kumar emphasized the necessity for potential patients to undergo an angiogram and other essential medical evaluations prior to reaching out for assistance.
Reports from the angiogram and all relevant medical documents should be sent to Kumar for assessment. For those needing angiogram services, inquiries can also be directed to the hospital. Kumar stated that direct communication with him is essential to facilitate tailored services in cardiology in conjunction with his cardiac team.
The operating theatre at PSH has been recognized by visiting cardiologists from India as world-class, equipped with the latest technology. The costs associated with open-heart surgeries at PSH are competitive with rates in India and other locations.
PSH’s Nadi branch is conveniently located on Queen’s Highway, directly opposite Nadi International Airport, while the Suva branch is situated at 107 Foster Road in Walu Bay. Currently, cardiac services are exclusively available at the Nadi branch, while other advanced medical procedures, including neurosurgery, urology, obstetrics, gynecology, general surgery, and orthopedic services, are offered at both branches.
PSH is dedicated to providing high-quality medical care with state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring excellent surgical outcomes and expedited recovery times. Kumar reinforced the hospital’s commitment to patient health and well-being, stressing the importance of prompt treatment for fostering a quick recovery.
