Fiji’s first locally owned private hospital, Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH), is set to conduct its inaugural open-heart surgery. Director and CEO Parvish Kumar announced the development, expressing a commitment to assist underprivileged individuals who are unable to finance the surgery. Those interested are encouraged to reach out to him via email at p.kumar@psh.com.fj.
To qualify for either a fully subsidized procedure or a significantly reduced price, patients must meet specific cardiac health criteria. Kumar noted that candidates should have their angiogram and all required medical evaluations completed prior to making contact.
Patients can obtain their angiograms at any medical facility but must send their reports to Kumar for assessment, along with any relevant medical documents. For those needing angiogram services, PSH is also available for assistance.
Kumar emphasized the need for direct communication to facilitate tailored arrangements for patients seeking cardiology services in collaboration with the cardiac team.
PSH’s operating theater features state-of-the-art technology, with visiting cardiologists from India praising it as world-class. The costs associated with open-heart procedures at PSH are competitive with rates in India and elsewhere.
The Nadi branch of PSH is located on Queen’s Highway, directly across from Nadi International Airport, while the Suva branch can be found at 107 Foster Road in Walu Bay. Notably, cardiac services are exclusively offered at the Nadi location, although advanced procedures in neurosurgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, and orthopedics are available at both branches.
PSH prides itself on providing high-quality medical care and the latest equipment, which contributes to excellent surgical outcomes and quicker recovery periods. Kumar emphasized the importance of health and well-being, stating, “At PSH, we value your health and well-being and prioritize prompt treatment to expedite your journey to full recovery.”
