Key figures in Fiji’s financial sector gathered at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on October 16 to celebrate the Reserve Bank of Fiji’s achievement in winning the prestigious ‘Nestor Espenilla Jr Financial Inclusion Innovation Award’ at the 2024 Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Awards.
This award recognizes institutions that have shown leadership in utilizing technology to enhance financial inclusion and have shared valuable insights with peers globally.
Dr. Eliki Boletawa, AFI’s Director of Policy Program and Implementation, stated that the recipients of this award exemplify innovation and illustrate how technology can drive the development of inclusive financial systems. He emphasized that the award underscores the importance of technology in providing accessible, affordable, and inclusive financial services, solidifying the RBF’s role as a leader in promoting financial inclusion throughout the Pacific region.
