Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad has announced that his legal team has contacted the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) to refute its allegations against him. In a statement to FijiLive, Prof Prasad made it clear that the issues at hand are being managed by his lawyers, who are in communication with FICAC. He chose not to provide further comments on the matter at this time. This development follows FICAC’s announcement that they plan to file charges against Prof Prasad on Thursday. Additionally, FICAC has notified several key officials, including President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Attorney General Graham Leung, and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga, regarding their intention to proceed with charges against him.
