Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that the Cabinet has reached an agreement to hold public consultations regarding the potential reintroduction of scaling in national examinations for both primary and secondary schools. In a statement, PM Rabuka emphasized that a final decision on the matter will be made following the consultation process. He noted that the scaling system was first established in 1979 for the Fiji Seventh Form Certificate Examination and in 1989 for the Fiji School Leaving Certificate Examination as a fair method to ensure subject equivalence. The system was abolished in 2015.
