The Fiji Head Teachers Association has received a call to devise practical strategies aimed at benefiting children and enhancing the educational landscape in Fiji.
During the inauguration of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an environment that inspires children and encourages innovative thinking, enabling them to become the problem-solvers of the future.
Radrodro highlighted the need for educators to bridge the divide between traditional teaching methods and innovative practices, urging them to empower students to develop independent thinking skills.
“While teamwork is vital for fostering social harmony, it is essential to first shape our children’s characters, instilling in them a sense of purpose, vision, and direction,” he stated.
Heads of Schools were encouraged to extend their influence beyond the confines of the classroom and school, to engage with children and their families in the broader community.
“Take on the role of a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to guide your respective schools, and we must cultivate an educational environment where each student can excel, every teacher can thrive, and our communities can prosper,” Radrodro concluded.
