Fiji’s Education Future: A Call for Transformative Leadership

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to create effective solutions to enhance education and support children in Fiji. This call to action was made by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro during the inauguration of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau.

Mr. Radrodro emphasized the importance of fostering an environment that ignites children’s creativity and innovative thinking, encouraging them to become future leaders who are equipped with problem-solving skills.

He stated, “You are tasked to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, and I urge you to empower your students to think independently.” Highlighting the significance of teamwork for social unity, he noted that instilling a sense of purpose, vision, and direction in children is essential.

The Heads of Schools (HOS) were also reminded to extend their roles beyond classroom instruction, advocating for active engagement with students and their families.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to lead your respective schools, and together we should create an educational environment where every student can succeed, every teacher can shine, and every community can thrive,” Mr. Radrodro concluded.
