Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that the Cabinet has approved the review of the Education Act of 1966. In his statement, Rabuka highlighted that this Act is the key legislation governing education in Fiji, and a thorough review is necessary and overdue.
The review aims to achieve several objectives, including aligning the Act with the current educational environment, addressing the changing needs of students, teachers, parents, and the community, and tackling any educational issues or gaps that have emerged since the last update.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this extensive review will involve a nationwide consultation process.
