The Public Service Commission has rescinded the appointment of Pita Wise, the former Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister, as Fiji’s Head of Mission to Japan. The PSC confirmed this decision in a statement after Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced Wise’s selection to serve as Fiji’s High Commissioner to Japan. The Commission clarified its stance on the matter and stated that the decision was made appropriately. Wise had previously resigned from his position after more than 18 months of service, citing personal reasons.
