The Public Service Commission has rescinded the appointment of Pita Wise, the former Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister, as Fiji’s Head of Mission to Japan. The PSC made this announcement following a statement from Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who had initially indicated that Wise was to serve as Fiji’s High Commissioner to Japan. The Commission clarified that it made the decision after careful consideration. Wise had previously resigned from his position after more than 18 months of service as a senior official in the Prime Minister’s office, citing personal reasons for his departure.
