The Telecommunications Authority of Fiji (TAF) has launched its inaugural Five-Year Strategic Plan (2025-2029) at Tanoa Plaza in Suva, marking a significant milestone for the organization. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications Manoa Kamikamica, who highlighted the plan’s ambitious goals that revolve around four main pillars: Regulatory Effectiveness, Service Delivery, Advocacy, and Financial Sustainability.
To support these goals, the plan also includes strategic enablers regarding People and Governance, Processes, and Technology. Its overarching aim is to bridge the digital divide in Fiji, stimulate innovation, and position the country as a leading ICT hub in the Pacific region.
Mr. Kamikamica emphasized TAF’s commitment to empowering the telecommunications sector and envisioned a digitally connected Fiji where all citizens have equitable access to technology and opportunities. He expressed confidence that TAF will collaborate effectively with stakeholders to successfully implement this plan.
TAF’s chairman, David Eyre, spoke optimistically about the pathway ahead, noting that this strategic plan paves the way for a digitally inclusive future. He underscored the importance of stakeholder support in turning these aspirations into tangible benefits for the people of Fiji.
Meanwhile, TAF’s CEO, Prit Chand, reaffirmed the clear, actionable roadmap provided by the plan. He stated that it will not only guide the organization’s vision for connectivity but also ensure that every decision aligns with long-term objectives, allowing for effective resource management and a proactive approach to emerging challenges.
