The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file concerning Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation. This decision follows consultations between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was designated to handle the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
Last week, the ODPP obtained the investigation file from FICAC regarding Malimali. It was determined that the investigation was not yet complete, prompting the decision to refer it to the CID Director with recommendations for finalizing the inquiry.
Once the CID completes its investigation, the file will be returned to the ODPP for a thorough evaluation of the evidence presented. The ODPP stated that an update on the results of the file review will be provided once the completed investigation is returned and a decision has been made.
