Authorities are looking into a recent break-in at the official residence of the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) located in Nasese.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the incident took place on September 29, despite the property being secured with extensive fencing and guarded by FCS personnel. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

FCS Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa shared that a room within the residence was ransacked, leading to the theft of traditional artifacts, including a whale’s tooth, known as tabua. He noted that fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
