Fiji’s Cabinet Takes Action: Funds Redeployed for Education and Police Overruns

The Fijian Cabinet has sanctioned a second fund redeployment within the 2023-2024 Budget to manage the over-expenditures faced by the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Police Force.

A total of FJ$7.94 million will be reallocated from existing budget provisions to address these financial deficits.

This action follows a previous redeployment in July when FJ$105.19 million was redirected to cover additional expenditure needs across various government departments and projects.

The fund reallocation adheres to the Financial Management Act guidelines, ensuring the government stays within its financial framework while tackling these unexpected costs in crucial sectors.

This financial maneuver underscores the government’s commitment to efficiently managing its budget while continuing to support essential services.
