Fiji’s Business Awards Deadline Extended Amidst Application Surge

Due to a high volume of applications for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, the deadline has been extended by four days, now set to close tomorrow, Friday, October 4, 2024.

With over 200 applications submitted, Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty remarked that businesses throughout Fiji are eager to showcase their accomplishments and their impact on the nation’s economic development.

“The extension was granted to provide more time for applicants to submit their entries accurately,” Chetty noted.

Applications have been received in all categories, with a wide variety of businesses seeking recognition. Investment Fiji has expressed admiration for the focus on sustainability and innovation present in many submissions.

“Many reputable companies have demonstrated their abilities and their dedication to helping the nation,” Chetty emphasized.

This year, new categories such as the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award have sparked considerable interest.

“This reflects a growing understanding of responsible business practices and a commitment to positively impacting our communities and environment,” Chetty added.

The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards aim to acknowledge outstanding Fijian businesses that have made significant contributions to the country through exceptional operations and leadership.

The theme for this year, Business Innovation and Sustainability, highlights the changing nature of business contributions.

Businesses interested in applying are urged to submit their applications before the deadline tomorrow. For more information and to access the application, please visit www.iba.org.fj.
