“Fiji’s Business Awards Deadline Extended Amidst Application Surge!”

In response to a significant increase in applicants for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, the application deadline has been extended by four days. It now closes tomorrow, Friday, October 4, 2024.

So far, over 200 applications have been submitted, indicating that businesses throughout Fiji are eager to showcase their achievements and their roles in the nation’s economic development.

“We extended the deadline to give more applicants the opportunity to submit their entries properly,” stated Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty.

All award categories have seen submissions, with a wide range of businesses vying for recognition. Investment Fiji is particularly impressed with the focus on sustainability and innovation highlighted by many applicants.

“Many reputable companies have demonstrated their capabilities and their commitment to benefiting the nation,” Chetty pointed out.

This year has introduced new categories, such as the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award, which have sparked considerable interest.

“This reflects a growing recognition of responsible business practices and a commitment to making a positive impact on our communities and the environment,” Chetty concluded.

The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards aim to honor exceptional Fijian businesses that have made notable contributions through outstanding operations and leadership. The theme for this year, “Business Innovation and Sustainability,” captures the changing landscape of business contributions.

Businesses wishing to apply are encouraged to do so before the deadline tomorrow. For more details and to access the application, please visit www.iba.org.fj.
