Fiji’s Business Awards Deadline Extended Amid Surge of Applications

The application deadline for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards has been extended by four days due to a high volume of applicants. The new deadline is set for tomorrow, Friday, October 4, 2024.

So far, over 200 applications have been received, indicating strong interest from businesses throughout Fiji eager to showcase their accomplishments and their role in the country’s economic development. Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty commented that the extension aims to provide more applicants with the opportunity to submit their entries appropriately.

Chetty noted that applications have come in from all categories, representing a diverse array of businesses competing for honors. He also expressed appreciation for the emphasis on sustainability and innovation among the applicants.

Many recognized companies have presented their capabilities and their dedication to contributing to the nation, according to Chetty. The introduction of new categories this year, such as the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award, has sparked considerable interest.

Chetty remarked that this highlights an increasing awareness of responsible business practices and a commitment to making a positive impact on communities and the environment.

The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards are designed to recognize outstanding businesses in Fiji that have made significant contributions through exemplary operations and leadership. This year’s theme, Business Innovation and Sustainability, reflects the changing nature of business contributions.

Businesses wishing to apply are encouraged to do so before tomorrow’s deadline. For more information and to access the application, please visit www.iba.org.fj.
