Due to a high volume of applicants interested in the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, the application deadline has been extended by four days, now set to close tomorrow, Friday, October 4, 2024.
So far, more than 200 applications have been submitted. Kamal Chetty, the Chief Executive Officer, remarked that businesses across Fiji are eager to showcase their accomplishments and their roles in the nation’s economic development.
Chetty stated, “We granted the extension to allow more applicants to submit their entries properly.” He noted that all categories have received submissions from a wide variety of businesses seeking recognition. Investment Fiji is particularly impressed with the focus on sustainability and innovation in many applications.
Chetty highlighted, “Numerous reputable companies have showcased their capabilities and their commitment to contributing to the nation.”
This year introduces new categories, including the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award, which have sparked significant interest.
“This demonstrates a growing awareness of responsible business practices and a commitment to positively impacting our communities and environment,” Chetty commented.
The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards aim to honor exceptional Fijian businesses that have made significant contributions to the nation through outstanding operations and leadership.
The theme for this year, Business Innovation and Sustainability, reflects the changing nature of business contributions.
