Tourists in Fiji are encountering challenges with the country’s bus card system, which is essential for utilizing public buses. This problem was brought to light by a well-known YouTuber with a significant following of nearly 190,000, during his recent trip from Sydney to Fiji.
In his vlog recounting his experiences, the YouTuber expressed his frustration at being unable to board a bus in the Samabula area due to the lack of the required bus card. As a consequence, he ended up walking from his hotel to Suva. The YouTuber commented on the vibrant atmosphere of the buses, stating, “The buses are a mad vibe. I want to ride one but I need a card to ride one. The process to get a card is hard.”
This situation underscores the need for better accessibility and information regarding public transport for visitors. By addressing these issues, Fiji could enhance the tourism experience and potentially attract more visitors in the future.
