Fiji Amateur Boxing head coach Cam Todd has hailed the recent boxing event in Navua as the largest amateur competition in the past year. Originally anticipated to have between 25 and 30 bouts, the event surpassed expectations with a remarkable total of 50 fights, showcasing the dedication and readiness of the boxers.
The event was held at the Vashist Muni Memorial Primary School hall, organized by the Kwaca Na Vatu Boxing club, and drew a large crowd from the Namosi and Serua communities. Todd expressed his astonishment at the number of fights, highlighting the increasing popularity of boxing in Fiji and the importance of seizing opportunities for its development.
“The 50 fights are just incredible; they demonstrate the growth of boxing here in Fiji. We just need to reach out and embrace this opportunity,” Todd stated.
