Fiji’s Bold Vision: Aiming for Riches in 30 Years

According to Professor Biman Prasad, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the National Development Plan (NDP) sets a goal for Fiji to transition from a middle-income country to a wealthier nation within the next 25 to 30 years. The Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is scheduled to officially launch the National Development Plan 2025-2029 and Vision 2050 at the Grand Pacific Hotel tomorrow.

During the launch of Kimaya Fiji last week at the Yatule Resort and Spa in Natadola, Prof Prasad emphasized that the plan serves as a comprehensive strategy for nation-building aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all Fijians. He highlighted the importance of involving women in the economy, whether in the workforce or leadership roles, as a crucial factor for Fiji’s progress.

Prasad stated that the Government is committed to understanding the needs and aspirations of various sectors within the community. This commitment has led to a journey of consultation and collaboration with the public, private sectors, and non-governmental organizations. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made in this regard.

To foster a supportive environment for all citizens, the Government has initiated a program designed to stimulate business growth and harness the potential and creativity of workers, communities, and farmers.
