Fiji’s Bold Step: How New Flight Simulators are Shaping Aviation’s Future

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has stated that the $160 million investment in new flight simulators reflects Fiji Airways’ confidence in the future. During the inauguration of two advanced flight simulators, he emphasized that this initiative signifies a stronger commitment to enhancing Fiji’s status as an aviation training hub in the Asia Pacific region.

Rabuka noted that the new facility will attract trainees and pilots from Fiji and beyond, reinforcing Fiji as a center of excellence in aviation. He highlighted that Fiji Airways is responsible for bringing in over 65-70 percent of all visitors to Fiji and that its global marketing expenditure is greater than any other organization promoting travel and tourism to the country.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that the expanded training capabilities of the Aviation Academy will uphold the highest standards of safety and service, which are essential for improving the travel experience for visitors. He pointed out that these investments are in line with the Government’s broader vision for sustainable development.

Rabuka remarked that Fiji Airways is not just a leader in aviation but also a trailblazer in environmental stewardship. He described the facility as a catalyst for economic activity, which will benefit local businesses and contribute to the nation’s overall prosperity.

Furthermore, he affirmed that Fiji continues to be an attractive destination for both foreign and domestic investments. The success of Fiji Airways in making significant investments in advanced infrastructure highlights the country’s robust investment climate, particularly in the aviation sector, according to Rabuka.
