The National Development Plan is set to be unveiled next week, specifically on Tuesday, September 17. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof. Biman Prasad, who described the launch as a significant occasion for both the government and the citizens.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to oversee the launch of the National Development Plan. According to Prof. Prasad, the initiative has been developed through extensive consultations with both the private and public sectors.
He emphasized the importance of the National Development Plan, which will address and prioritize several key areas. During public consultations, Fijians identified critical issues including access to water, rural electrification, enhanced network connectivity, improved road infrastructure, and the expansion of health services.
The forthcoming National Development Plan will encompass a three-year, five-year, and a 20-year strategy for Fiji, serving as a vital blueprint for the country’s future.
