The Fiji men’s beach soccer team achieved a remarkable 4-0 victory over Papua New Guinea, securing third place at the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup held in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

In the decisive match against their previous opponents, the team, coached by Jerry Sam, showcased impressive vigor and skill, bouncing back from an earlier defeat.

Fiji’s scoring began with a goal from Steven Dean in the eighth minute, followed by a hat trick from France Catarogo, who netted goals in the 16th, 22nd, and 34th minutes, ensuring a solid win.

Despite fielding a squad that included many new players and lacking experienced athletes like Tevita Waranivalu and Madhwan Gounder, the team displayed strong defensive capabilities that contributed significantly to their success.
