While this temporary facility can accommodate only 70 passengers at a time, Labasa Airport sees about 200 travelers daily, which may lead to congestion. To mitigate this, additional temporary structures have been set up for overflow. The temporary terminal is part of an ambitious $8 million project, which will eventually pave the way for a permanent terminal featuring 138 seats and a dedicated arrivals area. Construction for this permanent facility is expected to begin soon and conclude in approximately 18 months.
