Fijians Unite in Faith: A Historic Church Conference in Australia

Fijians residing in Australia have participated in the annual conference of the Methodist Church this week, marking a first for many of them. Approximately 40 individuals attended, including seasonal workers who have managed to secure new contracts, allowing them to extend their stay in Australia for several more years.

Reverend Moape Siginisucuvinaka, a team leader based in Griffith, Australia, noted that these workers have integrated into the local Methodist church branches and have contributed significantly to the community. “Many of them have joined us and we are glad that they have been very active with church activities. We have come for this conference to encourage them to continue serving God faithfully,” he expressed.

Seremaia Raibevu, a seasonal worker and youth representative, shared that being part of this group has been a blessing. “Living in Australia is not easy, especially for those of us coming from a closely-knit community in our village, so God is the only answer,” he remarked.
