Fijians Embrace Faith in Australia: A Church Conference to Remember

Fijians residing in Australia participated in the annual conference of the Methodist Church this week, marking the first occasion for many. Approximately 40 Fijians attended, including seasonal workers who have obtained new contracts that will allow them to extend their stay in Australia for a few more years.

Reverend Moape Siginisucuvinaka, the team leader from Griffith, Australia, noted that these workers have become integral to local Methodist church branches and have significantly contributed to the community. “Many of them have joined us and we are glad that they have been very active with church activities. We have come for this conference to encourage them to continue serving God faithfully,” he said.

Seremaia Raibevu, a seasonal worker and youth representative, expressed gratitude for being part of the group. “Australia is not an easy place to live in, especially coming from a closely knitted community in our village, so God is the only answer,” Raibevu stated.
