The anticipation is building for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England, where the Vodafone Fijiana XV will compete in Pool B alongside Canada, Scotland, and Wales. The complete schedule for the draw is expected to be released soon.

The tournament is set to run from September 7 to October 28, 2025, featuring a thrilling array of matches.

Alana Thomas, the Fiji Rugby Union’s Women’s High Performance Unit Manager, expressed her excitement regarding the upcoming World Cup. She noted, “Being drawn in such a competitive pool is a testament to the growth of women’s rugby in Fiji. We are eager to take on the challenge and represent our nation with honor.”

Thomas highlighted the completion of the pool draw, saying, “Vodafone Fijiana XV are excited that we now know our opponents in England next August. This Rugby World Cup is expected to be a game changer for the women’s game.”

Reflecting on recent experiences, Thomas mentioned the team’s northern tour, which included a match against Scotland. Despite the unfavorable outcome, she pointed out the valuable exposure to the Six Nations style of rugby it provided.

Additionally, she acknowledged the advantages of the northern tour, stating, “It allows us to travel to the other side of the world, experience different weather, and adapt to a longer tour, all of which can impact our performance.”

After their participation in the WXV3 competition in Dubai, the Vodafone Fijiana XV has returned home and completed an exit review. The team will now take a brief hiatus before reconvening in November to begin training.
