Fijiana XV Aims for Victory Amid Coaching Transition

The Vodafone Fijian XV will look to achieve the extraordinary against Spain in their final match of the WXV 3 in Dubai, inspired by their coach Mosese Rauluni in what will be his last game with the team. Rauluni announced his resignation on Tuesday following a heavy 45-17 defeat to Samoa.

Under Rauluni’s leadership, the Fijian Drua reached the Super W Grand Final for the third consecutive year and guided the Fijiana XV to victory in the Oceania Championship, securing a spot in next year’s Rugby World Cup. He also celebrated the team’s historic first win against Japan. His tenure marked a significant transformation within the program as it underwent centralization in Nadi, providing new opportunities for players and staff and a vision for the future. Notable players like Atelaite Buna, Salanieta Kinita, and Repeka Tove emerged during his time as coach.

The Fiji Rugby Union confirmed that this match will be Rauluni’s farewell before he relocates to Brisbane, Australia, to be with his family. FRU CEO Rovereto Nayacalevu stated that the search for a new head coach for both the Fijiana XV and Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua teams would commence soon. He extended best wishes to Rauluni for his future endeavors and family life in Australia.

The match between Fiji and Spain is set to kick off at 4:30 AM and will be broadcast live on Sky Pacific.
