Fijiana XV Aims for Glory in Rauluni’s Farewell Match

The Vodafone Fijian XV is looking to be inspired by head coach Mosese Rauluni in their final match against Spain in the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai. Rauluni announced his resignation after the Fijiana XV suffered a 45-17 defeat to Samoa.

Rauluni, who led the Fijian Drua to their third consecutive Super W Grand Final this year, also guided the Fijiana XV to victory in the Oceania Championship, securing a spot in the upcoming Rugby World Cup. Under his leadership, the Fijiana achieved a historic win against Japan and facilitated significant program development through centralization in Nadi. This initiative has been beneficial for players and staff, fostering a vision for future pathways. Among the players who thrived under his guidance are Atelaite Buna, Salanieta Kinita, and Repeka Tove.

As he prepares to relocate to Brisbane, Australia to reunite with his family, Rauluni’s upcoming match against Spain marks his final task as head coach. Fiji Rugby Union CEO Rovereto Nayacalevu stated that they will begin the search for a suitable replacement for Rauluni in both the Fijiana XV and Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua teams. He extended best wishes to Rauluni for his future endeavors in Australia.

The match between Fiji and Spain is set to kick off at 4:30 AM and will be broadcast live on Sky Pacific.
